Life Ready Ohio for teens 14 -17

The FACCES Life Ready Ohio Program is for teens 14 – 17 years who are looking to have an amazing summer filled with lots of fun. Teens build skills to help them demonstrate self-awareness and positive ways to interact with peers and members of their community. Participants support FACCES programs and events, engage in leadership meetings, learn the value of teamwork, and important conflict resolution techniques. Registered youth are provided free lunch and snacks daily!

The summer program runs June 12, 2023, to August 18, 2023. The deadline to sign up is June 7, 2023, at 5:00pm. Please be advised that space is limited.

SAVE THE DATE! FACCES LIFE Ready 2023 Reflection event will be held on July 28, 2023. FACCES Life Ready Teens will host this special event for family and friends and community members.

Life Ready Ohio Field Trip to Mills James Studio

The T.A.L.C. (Teenage Adolescent Leadership Conversation) Series, under the FACCES Life Ready Ohio service, hosted a field trip to Mills James Studio. Mills James is a video production company that has been around since 1984. The teens who attended talked with the actual professionals who make many of the commercials that we see on television today.

During the field trip, the teens had conversations about their career goals after high school. The discussion brought attention to their interest in pursuing college, relationships with their teachers, entrepreneurial goals and motivations behind being successful in their careers.

Future participation in the T.A.L.C. series will help teens continue to develop paths and plans to accomplish their goals.

Several of the participants applied to work with FACCES during summer 2023. Look forward to seeing FACCES Life Ready Ohio teens doing positive things throughout our community.

Life Ready Ohio, TALC Series: Tour of Mills James Studio

The TALC series is focused on creating a space where teens and adolescents share their ideas and needs. On April 11, 2023, FACCES will be taking Life Ready Ohio teens on a field trip to Mills James production studio. Mills James is a media production company based in Columbus Ohio that produces film, broadcasting, commercials, and so much more. Teens will be able to tour the studio and learn how the Mills James team works together as they host a conversation around their career and life goals after high school.

For families with teenagers that are interested in FACCES programming, become a FACCES Family Member today at no charge and sign your teen up for FACCES Life Ready Ohio today! These services give adolescents and teens hands on experiences and resources as they transition into adulthood.

FACCES K Ready Ohio is going to Easton!

It is Springtime! It is also time to assess your child’s readiness for kindergarten!

The FACCES K Ready Ohio team will be at Easton Town Center on Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 1:00pm – 4:00pm. At no cost, families can confirm where their child stands in their kindergarten readiness journey! Families will receive one-on-one support to register online, and learn how to navigate through the 5-step process of becoming a FACCES K Ready Ohio member. All participating families receive access to individualized activities that align with the Ohio Early Learning Development Standards. We are excited that Pete the Cat will be joining us for a special meet and greet during this event!

FACCES Pop Up: Coat and Kit Care-Packages!

FACCES is currently registering for a FACCES Pop Up event in partnership with Operation Warm & COSI. We have almost 200 coats and 100 kits for children and adolescents to give to our FACCES Families!

FACCES K Ready Ohio Events

FACCES has hit the ground running as we have hosted these events at both the Central Ohio, Linden and Whitehall Metropolitan Libraries. We invite families to the FACCES K Ready Ohio enrollment events to receive support in getting registered to confirm kindergarten readiness for children under 6 years. We are also able to help families navigate the online platform, distribute incentive gift cards and answer any questions they may have. Special Guest Pete the cat is in attendance for a special read aloud of a Pete the cat story book. APPS Program

APPS stands for Applying Pressure and Passion to Service. The APPS Program provides adolescents and young adults (ages 14-23) in the community with the opportunity to gain practical work experience to prepare them for a productive lifestyle.

Adolescents from APPS had the opportunity to work in the FACCES Food Education and Academic Navigation programs. They participated in a program that utilizes everyday events to cultivate emotional intelligence through a self-regulation process that integrates social-emotional learning and discipline. This is called Conscious Discipline.

They helped support the Urban Garden greenhouse by doing tasks like watering the plants, harvesting, and performing aquaponics maintenance. Job duties also included planning, preparing, and leading community events, as well as mentoring children in summer camp.

The T.A.L.C. Series

The T.A.L.C. (Teenage Adolescent Leadership Conversation) Series is a monthly meeting series with the purpose to provide FACCES youth with a platform to discuss their interests, challenges, passions, and dreams. Each month, creative environments are used to host conversations that make it easier for adolescents to open up about their life challenges. These conversations build connectivity between participants and mentors to inform on the exact products or services needed to empower their lifestyle.

Our Kickoff Event will be held Saturday November 12, 2022, at AMC Easton Movie Theater for ages 13-17 years. Seating is limited for an optional, private, free movie viewing of Marvel’s Wakanda Forever.

FACCES K Ready Ohio Ambassadors Needed

The FACCES K Ready Ohio program empowers families and caregivers to support the children they love in meeting and/or exceeding Ohio’s Early Learning Development Standards before they begin kindergarten. As an ambassador, you will champion families and be their connection to the FACCES K Ready Ohio program. Training and technical support is provided through weekly FACCES K Ready Ohio Assemblies.
